FUNDRAISING & SCHOLARSHIPS

Search, Research, Apply

Properly budgeting for my big trip is extremely important, especially because I am planning on traveling a fair bit while abroad. In order to take full advantage of my opportunities, I need to have enough money. I am applying for at least three scholarships. The first is a financial award granted to Federal Work Study recipients such as myself. The next one is through the Women's Leadership Program of GW, and it is to help fund my research needs while in Chile. Another scholarship that I am applying for is the Knowledge in Action Career Internship Fund (KACIF) which would support my unpaid internship abroad. Finally, the scholarship I am most excited for is the GW Sustainability Scholars Award which is a new initiative at the university that is specifically for research projects, such as mine, that relate to sustainable and environmental topics.

Over the semester I worked at my University's Key Depot in order to make extra cash, which I have been saving up to also contribute to my study abroad experience. Over the summer, before my program began, I worked various jobs such as dog sitting, so that I rely less on donations from my parents.
